Today we walked up the road to film and as dad was telling me about the house we use to live in before migrating to Australia, a woman walking behind us yelled out " thats where I live would you like to look inside"? we were amazed at the 'coincidence' and we actually went inside the house I lived in from birth - 4 years !!
In the afternoon we went to my nieces school at "LA TEJA" and filmed there as it was open day, this was an awesome experience for me to listen to primary education in the spanish language.
The poverty here overwhelms me!
At LA TEJA Cousin 1 lives next door to Cousin 2 and they dont talk! So sad, so sad, so sad, I cant find the words .... besides this I feel very unsafe !
I brought this to God in prayer and recieved Psalm 91 v 4 which says " because I hold fast to God in love God will deliver me! He will protect me because I know His name - (16) with LONG life will he satisfy me and show me HIS salvation"
God showed me that He has saved me in more ways than one - All I can say of this poverty is :
There for the grace of God go I !!
On that same note - My husband was tens of thousands of miles away ( I tavelled with my much older parents) there was no Australian embassy , my spanish was so bad, I was in the middle of a slum and people were being killed for $100. This is what it feels like to have nothing but God! I felt at that moment that God was so small in my life , not because He IS small but because I realized how much I have to decrease !!
I had a revelation of how much I needed material things to prop me up! - I also had the realization that there wasnt a thing at that moment that I could do to change that!
I was so embarassed to call myself a Chaplain or even a christian !

Light and Illumination
Psalm 119 v 130 "The entrance of thy words giveth light" ( KJV)
Have you ever been in a dark room and turned on a light only to have it blow out within seconds?
Its interesting that for the few seconds that the light was on is enough to help you remember where things were positioned on the room but not enough to help you really search confidently for whatever item you were looking for.
My dictionary defines darkness as 'the absence of illumination'
We all desperately need illumination in dark places, especially on ground we are not familiar with !
Illumination is defined as 'supplying with light' or 'the state of being illuminated'
I want to connect this with 2 Peter 1:19 which tell us that "The prophetic word is a sure thing and we do very well to heed it , its a light that shines in a dark place and the day will dawn and the morning star will rise in your hearts "
( I like the Amplified versions very expressive way of putting it : And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises ([a]comes into being) in your hearts).
This scripture talks about the word coming into being in our souls it speaks to me of the light overtaking the darkness and having a more permanent place in our hearts. So I see that not only do we need the "entrance: of Gods word but we need to "heed" it and "pay close attention" to it ............and in doing so we RETAIN that light !

A life of sham
If I should live
a life of sham.
Hiding who
I truly am.
The soul within,
will surely die.
If outwardly
I live a lie
For God gave me,
the grace to see
Peace profound
In being...Me !
a life of sham.
Hiding who
I truly am.
The soul within,
will surely die.
If outwardly

For God gave me,
the grace to see
Peace profound
In being...Me !
Wounded sheep
"They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace" - Jeremiah 6 v14
I was talking to a pastor last week and telling him a story of a church in which many people had been wounded by their previous pastor. I was very disappointed by his response but not surprised. He responded: ' What the people dont understand is that the previous pastor has probably grown alot in the Lord since ". I was not surprised because I have heard this so many times from the leadership - I was dissapointed because I cannot understand why he or others in leadership can not show empathy for the wounded church and why they would expect such maturity from the sheep and not the shepherd.

Current Journey in the light
I believe God is taking me on a journey into an area where I can reach the unchurched.. I found a webpage that is assisting me called Community of Hope http://www.communityofhope.org.au/about I have also been reading a book called "Beyond Prediction, The Tarot and your Spirituality" I work with many new agers and I desire to be a witness to them by 'being all things to all men' I have just finished a 6 year Chaplaincy in a local College and I am now I have found myself working in a feminist organization as a support worker for women in crisis. I see many women with mental health issues, domestic violence victims, drug and alcohol users and women at risk of homelesness. I have discovered that many women thank the "universe" for divine intevrention in their lives and am only just learning about a spirituality that exists in the secular world that I was only vaguely aware of up until now. I recently attended a " spiritual retreat" held by my workplace which astounded me. Two women, one an ex catholic nun and one still a nun held a three day workshop on inner healing and connecting with "love" that they originally put together within a Christian content. They have secularised it for the world and organizations like the one I work for utilize their services. Although I could connect the dots athere was no mention of God or Jesus. I believe that its one thing to learn the tarot or use other pagan rituals to evangelize and glorify God but to havebeen given a healing tool and allow people to believe that it was whichever god they choose who healed them is another ... "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of salvation unto those that believe " Romans 1 v 16
